It’s time again for another Bench-Bar Happy Hour. The next Bench-Bar Happy Hour will be Thursday May 11, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 at Coppermuse in Old Town. Coppermuse is a local distillery known for their vodka and rum. Come enjoy good company with your fellow legal professionals. As always, staff and significant others are encouraged to attend.

Regularly Scheduled Events

The Bench/Bar Happy Hour is held on the second Thursday of odd-numbered months. The happy hour is a chance for members of the local legal community to meet and socialize, with an aim to build camaraderie among its members. We encourage judges, attorneys, judicial staff, and paralegals/legal assistants from all practice areas (even retired) to attend. Feel free to invite significant others. Because the location changes each month, watch your email, The Messenger, or the Larimer Bar’s calendar for happy hour dates and locations. LCBA Board Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at The Rainbow Restaturant. If you have any items to add to the agenda, contact President Renee Doak at (970) 498-7200.

The Larimer County Young Lawyers meets the third Wednesday of every month. If you are interested in their group, contact Dan St. John at (970) 482-4011 or email him at dstjohn@wicklaw.com.

There is an informal group of Trust and Estate lawyers called the LCBA Trust & Estate Committee. The group meets and hears speakers five times a year, from September through May, usually on the fourth Wednesday of the month of September, January, March, and May and on the first Wednesday of December. The Colorado Criminal Defense Bar (Larimer Chapter) meets monthly. Jeffrey Schwartz is the contact person at jeff@jskwlaw.com. He sends out notices by email so if you would like to be included, contact him.

Larimer County celebrated its 6th Annual National Adoption Day event on November 17, 2017. The event is always held on the Friday before Thanksgiving. There are adoption proceedings all day in the courtroom, and after each adoption proceeding, the child and his/her family & friends are invited to the Party Room to celebrate their special day with music, gifts for the children, entertainment, & photographs.
