PODER Community Defenders is a NoCo nonprofit project offering pro bono immigration defense to community members facing deportation in Weld & Larimer Counties. We invite you to join us for our next training, take a case, and make a difference for immigrants in Northern Colorado.
This training course is free of charge and will provide 7 hours of CLE credit to attorneys who agree to take a pro bono case with PODER. Introduction to Immigration Law and Removal Proceedings will cover basic substantive immigration law to allow our volunteers to spot potential avenues to relief from removal and provide representation to a local community member. The course will introduce cancellation of removal, defensive asylum applications, humanitarian programs like U Visas, SIJS and VAWA and also family based immigration as a possible defense to removal and will teach the attorneys to recognize the impact that criminal charges may have on immigration relief.
