Hon. Susan Blanco Appointed Next Colorado Supreme Court Justice

The Larimer County Bar Association is proud to share the recent appointment of the Hon. Susan Blanco to the Colorado Supreme Court by Governor Jared Polis.

We are truly thrilled for the State of Colorado as Justice-designate Blanco assumes this distinguished role. While this is a tremendous gain for our state’s highest court, she will be deeply missed here in Larimer County. As Chief Judge of the 8th Judicial District, serving Jackson and Larimer counties, Judge Blanco has been an exceptional, fair-minded, and innovative leader. Our county is losing a remarkable jurist whose integrity, compassion, and forward-thinking leadership have strengthened both our courts and our legal community.

Justice-designate Blanco fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Justice Melissa Hart and makes history as the first female Iranian American to serve on the Colorado Supreme Court.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations and sincere gratitude to Justice-designate Blanco for her dedicated service to our community. Colorado is fortunate to welcome her to its highest court.
